Mikhail I. Katsnelson (b. 1957, Magnitogorsk)
Studied physics in Ural State University, Sverdlovsk (finished 1977). Worked in the Institute of Metal Physics (till 2002). In 2002-2004 was a visiting professor in Uppsala Univeristy, from 2004 lives in the Netherlands, working in Radboud University Nijmegen. He is a Knight of the Order of the Netherlands Lion, Spinoza laureate, a member of Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and of Academia Europaea. Apart from numerous scientific works he has published (with V. Yu. Irkhin) popular books "Ordinances of the Heavens. Sixteen Chapters about Science and Faith" and "Wings of the Phoenix. An introduction to Quantum Mythophysics", In 2014, his book "Fifteen Poems" (in Russian, Dutch and English) has been published in the Netherlands.
