Love. Power. Inventiveness. - Revelations
Journalist Winfried Gburek has been traveling to Bosnia and Herzegovina for 13 years, searching for the truth about people's lives and the continuing consequences of the war in former Yugoslavia. For hundreds of kilometers he drove through the beautiful, but also deeply wounded country, where the bloodiest conflict on European soil since the Second World War raged from 1992 to 1995. In the presentation of numerous conversations, Gburek names facts, reveals and exposes them, describes the devastating mechanisms of proxy warfare in international politics - and counters violence with love. Often Gburek went together with Bishop Franjo Komarica, said about the Federal President Joachim Gauck: "He called murder murder and torture torture, despite the threat of his own life." Komarica led Gburek to needy people, minefields, destroyed churches - but also Projects of Peace and Reconciliation Komarica is a committed fighter for truth and reconciliation, witnessing the "ethnic cleansing" and expulsion of Croats during the war, under military house arrest and liquidation on several occasions This book is a man who probably has like no other person an inside view of the war and the country, which goes far beyond a normal horizon of experience.
